Members of Alpha Master chapter gathered at Perennial's Restaurant for their final meeting on May 22, 2010.  Secret Sisters were revealed and a delicious cake was enjoyed for dessert.  The chapter has adjourned for the summer.

Members of Laureate Psi chapter gathered at Carol and Louis Trillanes' home on July 19 for a summertime cookout. Steaks and hamburgers were cooked on the grill and delicious side dishes completed the meal for seven members and four husbands. A delightful time was had by all who attended.

 

 

On August 30 the chapter again met at Carol Trillanes' home for Beginning day.  Members were met at the door by the hostess who presented them with beautiful Hawaiian leis and colorful  bikini bras.  This Hawaiian theme was carried out in the table decorations, place settings and the menu which included delicious chicken salad and different types of fruit.  A short business meeting followed lunch and programs books for the coming year were handed out.  Our programs for next year will be "First Ladies of the United States." We are looking forward to a fun and interesting year.

New Officers for Laureate Psi chapter were installed on May 9 at their regular meeting held at Perennial's Restaurant.  Installed as President was Carol Trillanes,  Vice President:  Louise Bumstead,  Recording Secretary:  Carol Godwin,  Corresponding Secretary:  Linda Richardson and Treasurer:  Helen Davis.   City Council representatives will be Carol Godwin and Linda Richardson.

Our last meeting for the summer was held at Zea's Restaurant where we had lunch before our meeting.  Afterwards we exchanged Secret Sister gifts and had dessert which was a delicious carrot cake made by hostess Fran Myers.  The cake was decorated with last year's theme.  We are looking forward to another good year!

Laureate Psi Chapter 

 

Laureate Psi Chapter was formed as a Career Chapter on June 10, 1987. Three of the charter members are still active in the chapter, Barbara Gunderson, Olive Lee and Ruth Penhallegon. Elaine Blair, who passed away in November, 2008 was also a Charter Member and had been active until her death. At this time we have 13 active members and we have voted to maintain our current membership. All of our members have received the Master Degree.

We meet on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m. After our business meeting we have lunch served by the hostess. Sometimes we go out to a restaurant for lunch and our meeting, leaving the choice up to the hostess.

We have no Ways & Means projects. We feel our dues are sufficient to finance our socials and donations.

 Our Service projects include donations of household goods to Adoptive Families, Beta Sigma Phi Endowment Fund,and Toys for Tots. One of our members, Louise Bumstead, makes beautiful dolls and has donated one for several years to Toys for Tots. We also collect soda can tabs for Ronald McDonald House and Campbell Soup labels for the local schools. We made a contribution to the Cancer Fund in memory of Elaine Blair. Occasionally we contribute to other charities if a special need arises, such as the Beta Sigma Phi Disaster Fund for members who were victims of Hurricane Katrina.

We have an active Social Calendar with entertaining our Sister Chapter, our Christmas dinner and party with our husbands, Valentine Queen Brunch and Revealing Day. We also attend City Council sponsored events such as Honors Luncheon, Workshop, Founder's Day and Legacy Daughters Tea.

 We are very proud of one of our members, Fran Myers, who has 35 years perfect attendance! Eleven of our sisters have over 42 years of membership and Jean Bryant has 56, Louise Bumstead has 51 and  Barbara Gunderson has 50!
