Laureate Alpha Sigma's Christmas brunch was held at Inga Duhon's home on Dec. 16th. Inga had as usual decorated her home so beautifully we were all amazed and thrilled at its beauty. We enjoyed great food prepared by our members, and giggled and laughed as we opened secret sister gifts afterwards.
Congratulations to Theresa and Gene Varoz who were married on September 18th. A reception was held at their home on Sunday, the 19th, for family and friends. Members of Laureate Alpha Sigma were there to help our Theresa celebrate this happy day.
Joy Domina was selected as Laureate Alpha Sigma's lovely Valentine Sweetheart in September. Joy is recovering from back surgery so was unable to attend the Honors Luncheon but looks forward to the Valentine Dance in February, which she is chairing this year. We know it will be a big success
Octoberfest party Oct. 17th hosted by Vera and Dean Butts. Wonderful German food prepared by Laureate Alpha Sigma's great cooks!

We support the Blue Star Mothers because they are a non political organization that respects and provides useful items to the military men and women that serve our country. Though indirect, it is much easier to provide great support to our military.

Volunteers pack in the warehouse and load the truck.
Terrific Deputies from Bernalillo County Sheriff's Dept that escorted the truck to the Post Office.
Home Coming Greetings from ABQ International Airport
This is an example of an airport greeting. Blue Star Mothers and other volunteers form 2 lines with those on one side holding the American flag while those on the other side hold the flags of each branch of the services. Sometimes, someone from the passersby will ask to join in. The more the merrier. Once the service people arrive at the head of the line, they are greeted, given some information, and sent through the lines to lots of cheering, clapping, and shouting. The crowd joins in that part for sure. Usually there is at least a little hugging that takes place. Lots of fun
