One fine evening spent around the fire!

Christmas Toys for Tots exchange 2009. Alpha Chi tried something new this year with our annual gifts collected for Toys for Tots. We drew names and then purchased a Toys for Tots gift that reminded us of that special Sister. It was a fun gift exchange with lots of laughter. Thanks to Diane for the great idea. Here are the gifts:
The Sisters of Alpha Chi have trying to plan a trip to Santa Fe on the Rail Runner for months. The date was finally set for October 17. The time to meet at the train station was set for 9:15 am. Well, we were there, but the train wasn't! It was 45 minutes late getting to the station. So, in true Alpha Chi form, we went to lunch instead! Maybe we'll try for Santa Fe another time....
Every year, the Sisters of Alpha Chi plan a girls get away weekend. This year, we rented a beautiful home in Ruidoso, NM situated along the river. The house came equipped with everything including this great wooden bear on the deck!
Mad Hatter Tea with Eta Theta
Eta Theta treated us to a very special evening at the home of Diane Paul. The theme was Mad Hatter Tea. We put on funny hats, drank tea and ordered from a menu. Our food choices had great names like "Riddle de dee", "Twinkle Twinkle Little Bat", "Much of Muchness" and "Curiouser". The fun part was we didn't know what we were ordering or what we'd get when it was served! This led to a lot of comparing and guessing. Too much fun! It was a beautiful evening, and we enjoyed the back yard setting of Diane Paul's Rio Rancho home. Thank you to daughters Ilana and Brandi for serving us with a smile. And thank you to Eta Theta for such a special treat!

Ronald McDonald House with Eta Alpha
Recently, Alpha Chi and Eta Alpha joined forces to prepare a meal for residents of the Ronald McDonald House. The RMcDH is Alpha Chi's service organization, and we prepare a meal several times a year. Ronald McDonald House has recently expanded their living quarters, and we now need to prepare a meal for 60 people! This is a little much for our small group, so we decided to ask Eta Alpha to help out. They happily agreed. Thanks Eta Alpha! You rock!
Alpha Chi, Easter 2009
Anna Trujeque is our Valentine Queen!
We had a great time at this year's Sweetheart Dance!
Bunco Time!
Recently, Alpha Chi entertained our Sister Chapter, Delta Omega, with an evening of playing Bunco. We shared a fun evening of laughter, friendship and lots of food!
Amanda Green, daughter of Yolanda Green, was our Bunco winner for the evening!
Alpha Chi said "farewell" to the 2007-2008 sorority year with our Revelation dinner at Sandiagos at the base of the Albuquerque Tram.
Alpha Chi has chosen The Ronald McDonald House as our service organization. We have prepared several meals for the guests at the RMcDH over the last few years. It is a very easy, yet worthwhile service project. After spending all day at the hospital, the last thing the guests need to worry about is cooking a meal. We prepare a meal for 25-30 people. We can prepare the meal at the RMcDH house (they have a full kitchen) or prepare it at home and transfer the food to serving dishes belonging to the RMcDH. Dinner is ready at 6:00, and we don't have to do any cleanup. The night manager takes care of it and putting away any extra food. Couldn't be simpler! For more information, click here:
