April 5 City Council Meeting Reminder

Dearest Sisters, just a friendly reminder about the upcoming April City Council Meeting. It will be April 5th at 7:00pm at Hodgin Elementary School.  Please be advised of the following:

 

Please bring updated Roster pages to be used for next years roster to Anne Hayward, or you can also e-mail them to her.

 

Please remember your pages for the President Scrapbook  to go to Cinda Fairfield

 

E-mail or call with your incoming Presidents and CC reps names to Janice Swope A.S.A.P.!

 

All receipts need to be turned in to Cinda Fairfield by June 1st.

 

Sisters, also be advised that the April 5th City Council meeting is for Incoming and Outgoing Pres and Reps and the nominating committee will be formed at this meeting.

The April 19th CC meeting will be for incoming Pres and Reps.  This meeting will be for officer elections.

2010 New Mexico State Convention in Hobbs

Information regarding NM Convention in Hobbs from Cheryl Baxley

1) Date: Sept. 24, 25 & 26th

 

2) Host Motel: Hampton Inn & Suites @ $79.95 per night

     (they told us any size room, but we don't have it in writing  yet, but will soon)

 

3) We have not decided on price of registration as yet, because we are waiting on Lodger's 

     Tax money. The meeting is April 14th, and depending on what all they will help us with, will

      Determine our registration fee. (General speaking: approx $100.00 to $115.00)

 

4) Location: Lea County Event Center - Theme: "Boots, Spurs & Oil"

 

5) Programs: History of Lea County, Fall Gardening, Table Design and Special Surprise Guest (we don't want to give too much away)

 

6) Entertainment on Saturday night: Comedian, Wayne Faust (look him up on Picklehead.com

     (we are listed on his website as BSP National Convention, guess he doesn't realize it's a state convention,but he probably doesn't know the difference)

 

Thank you so much for inquiring about the convention. We are so excited and have put in some long hours already planning for it. Can't wait to meet you, so please introduce yourself to me at the convention.

 

Looking forward to seeing everyone. We have so many new motels in town and the Lea County Event Center will easily accommodate over 1000 on the arena floor, which is where we will hold all classes and meals on Saturday and possibly Sunday Brunch. We are planning for our men/spouses as well, with hopes that we'll start seeing them again at some of the conventions. Please encourage your guys to come. They will enjoy Wayne Faust as much as we will and we will have some fun stuff for them to do.
